Spas and salons are making the process of booking customers into treatments even easier, thanks to 'intelligent' systems like Ez-Systems.

Customers can take advantage of the latest technology to make bookings online and even receive booking reminders from the facility via text message. Operators can send automated, targeted text messages to specific user-groups ranging from top spenders to low users to encourage usage.

The award-winning Nirvana Spa in Berkshire has been using Ez-Systems for almost a year and has already noticed a difference, both in terms of customer satisfaction, but also their bottom line.

With over 200 bookings a day, it is essential that any system used can handle not only the volume, but equally the complexity of the bookings: “Since we have been using Ez-Systems, the revenue at the Spa has increased, our staff are happier as their days are structured better and this has ultimately resulted in an even better overall experience for our customers,” says Tim Harding, Managing Director of Nirvana Spa.

As Ez-Systems can accommodate block bookings, this helps spas and salons to plan ahead, and making a booking for a party of five is as simple as for an individual. The 'intelligence' of Ez-Systems means that receptionists are less likely to make common mistakes like double bookings and avoid gaps in booking sheets, as the bookings are automatically allocated. This increases the number of customers that are able to visit the facility and as a result, the profitability.

The system also takes into account the working practices of therapists, recognising, for example, how many hours per day a therapist can perform massages before being at risk of RSI.

Latest features include an integrated membership system, for those spas that prefer the convenience of installing one complete system. Ez-Systems can also now send appointments to Outlook. Non-facility based therapists are can be notified by text message when an appointment has been made for them. The appointment will also be sent to their Outlook account and using their PDA, they can accept or decline the booking.

Finally, if a customer purchases a particular product or service, spas can set up and offer discounts, or add-ons at a discounted rate, as part of an in-house promotion. Ez-Systems can also be easily configured for multiple price recognition dependant on staff skill sets, times of day, membership profile and category.

Ez-Systems was the trade sponsor of the first ever 'National Spa Week' in 2005, organised by the Spa Business Association (SpaBA) and continues to support SpaBA in all its positive efforts to raise awareness of the spa industry.
