SpaBA Networking event a great success


SpaBA held its first event of 2010 at MalvernSpa. The theme of the event was ‘Improving the Bottom Line’ and the impressive line up of speakers shared their thoughts and experiences with a group of enthusiastic members and guests from some of the UK’s leading Spa’s, Hotels, Salons, Spa Service Providers and Product Houses.

The first SpaBA event of 2010, held at one of the countries newest Spa Hotels, MalvernSpa, was an interesting and lively afternoon’s debate discussing some of the key factors affecting our industry today in the company of industry experts. ‘Improving the Bottom Line’ is a key factor of any business and never more so than in challenging times.

Richard Dowdle of Tornado Digital started the afternoon discussing the benefit of effective ‘Internet Marketing’ sharing case studies from some leading experts in social networking, SEO and working with TPI's.

Sarah Brickwood from FOH Training shared her thoughts and experiences on ‘Handling the Customer Journey’ optimising sales & service at every opportunity through effective enquiry handling and Reception services.

Once marketing has delivered the customers and you have them using your facilities Cheryl Owens of Premier Software explained how using software enabled the ‘Intelligent use of KPI's’ turning usage statistics into data enabling intelligent decision making on how and where revenue opportunities are.

To finish the afternoons debate George Stylianou of KPI Sales discussed the emerging trend of monthly payment options for spa memberships and provided a range of hints and tips on improving the customer experience increasing retention and growing membership.

Finally SpaBA announced the formal launch of National Spa Week 2010 which will be between the 20th and 26th September. Last year’s event proved to be successful in what was very challenging times and this year should be even better with an impressive range of media and press already lined up to promote our members’ offers.
